National Cornbread Festival
Each year the National Cornbread Festival is hosted by the City of South Pittsburg, sponsored by Lodge (Cast Iron Cookware) Manufacturing and Martha White (Southern Baking Products), and staffed by volunteers from businesses, churches, schools ... well just about everybody in town gets involved! We transform from a small town of about 3,000 people into a festival of 25,000 people sharing great southern food, fun, music, crafts, a carnival, and 5K race. The proceeds from the festival are returned to the community to support local initiatives to keep South Pittsburg alive and thriving throughout the year.
Christ Church volunteers host the "Chocolate Cornbread Fritter" booth near the entrance to the festival AND host tours through our church, which is on the National Historic Register. The festival occurs on the last weekend of April every year. We hope you'll join us!

Field Education for Seminarians
Christ Church assists in the training of future leaders of the church by serving as a Field Education site for seminarians attending the University of the South School of Theology. Each year we welcome a seminarian and his or her family to worship, study, play, and work alongside us in the church and out in the world
Annual South Pittsburg Yard Sale
The annual South Pittsburg Yard Sale occurs on the first weekend of October. Individuals, families, and organizations offer their items for sale either in a booth downtown or on their own property. Our proceeds are distributed to education efforts in our church and community.
