The Reverend Kim A. Hobby - Rector

Born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Kim was raised as an Episcopalian in Central Arkansas. She returned to Fayetteville to attend the University of Arkansas and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1988. She spent the following fifteen years living in Conway, Arkansas working for Acxiom Corporation as a Product Consultant and Account Leader.

Kim began her theological studies at Memphis Theological Seminary in 2004 and received her Masters of Divinity in 2008 from the School of Theology at the University of the South. Prior to her ordination to the diaconate June 7, 2008 at Trinity Cathedral in Little Rock, she served in many capacities including: Christian Education and Youth Leader, Pastoral Care and Bethlehem House (homeless shelter) volunteer, and on the Vestry as Junior Warden and as Spiritual Director of the capital campaign to build the current worship space at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Conway, Arkansas.

Since arriving at Christ Church Episcopal, Kim has enjoyed serving as pastor, priest, and teacher to the people of this “small church with a big heart,” and as a Field Education Mentor to seminarians at the School of Theology at Sewanee. She currently serves as a certified Safeguarding God’s Children facilitator, as a board member of the South Pittsburg Ministerial Association, and board member of the South Pittsburg Rotary Club. 

Kim is married to Brent Hobby, Information Security Advisor at CampusGuard, and is the proud mother of daughters Aubrey and Sarah Beth.


The Reverend Kim Hobby was called to serve as the Rector of Christ Church in South Pittsburg, TN on November 1, 2011. Prior to this she served as a Curate and Assistant Priest at All Saints Church, and as Chaplain at All Saints School, in Morristown, Tennessee.  She was ordained a priest January 31, 2009.  

The Reverend E. Gary England  - Deacon - Retired

Gary is married to Ginger England and they have three grown children and six grandchildren.  In 2000 they retired and moved from Atlanta to the Sequatchie Valley and became members of Christ Church.  Gary was a software engineer with BellSouth for 30 years and Hewlett-Packard for 10 years.  Ginger is a retired elementary schoolteacher.

In 2001, Gary entered into the discernment process for ordination in the Episcopal Church.  In January of 2006 he was ordained Deacon by the Rt. Rev. Charles G. vonRosenberg and assigned to Christ Church Episcopal.  He and Ginger co-managed the operation of the Marion County Community Ministries (MCCM) Food Bank and Good Neighbors programs, and both were members of its Board of Directors.

Gary and Ginger are now retired and living happily in the Atlanta area.


The Reverend E. Gary England was assigned to serve as the Deacon of Christ Church in South Pitttsurg, TN in 2006.  He and his wife, Ginger, are now retired and living in the Atlanta area.
